Growbags to Gourmets

– A project run by St Luke’s Community Centre Gardening project that focuses on food growing and cooking seasonal produce.

The Growbags to Gourmets cookery classes are part of St Luke’s Community Gardening project. They take place on the first Friday of every month and aim to link growing and cooking different food plants.
One of our talented professional chefs teaches the group different ways to cook and eat the seasonal produce they, or the gardening group, have grown. Past sessions have focused on different herbs, tomatoes, potatoes, leeks, rhubarb, sorrel and summer fruits. There are also trips to nearby ‘pick your own’ farms followed by a session cooking with what was collected.
The Growbags to Gourmets sessions are friendly and relaxed and open to anyone. They are a great example of community integration and raising awareness of seasonal cooking and food growing in an urban setting.

Price: Free but a suggested donation of £3 is greatly appreciated.
